For many years, the Children’s Fresh Air Farm (CFAF) has welcomed Eagle Scout projects. It will continue to serve as a venue for projects enhancing the programs and campus at CFAF. You may notice some recent changes to CFAF’s campus. Many of them are thanks to the hard work of scouts. Congratulations to the following scouts for completing their Eagle Scout projects:

  1. Cleared brush and planted native trees near the Arts and Crafts Hut (Murphy Barze)
  2. Rebuilt fire pit and cleared area of brush (John Cooper)
  3. Cleared brush and planted native trees near entrance (David Dubose)
  4. Removed brush and landscaped near road fronting (Griffin Eagan)
  5. Landscaped and built fence around air conditioning unit (Brooks Glover)
  6. Constructed picnic tables and benches (Parker Hartline)
  7. Constructed benches for the Pool House (George Keller)
  8. Designed and constructed outdoor water fountain (Forrest Hutchens)
  9. Removed and rebuilt stage in the Pavilion (Malcolm Luttrell)
  10. Removed and rebuilt shelves and cabinets in the Arts and Crafts Hut (Davis Luttrell)

The Children’s Fresh Air Farm understands the Eagle Scout project is an opportunity for the scout to demonstrate leadership, and CFAF is continually aware of projects that may be considered by the scout. If a scout wants to undertake a project, he will still be required to develop a project plan that will be reviewed and approved by CFAF. Here is a listing of current projects for your consideration: Note: Projects with a name in parentheses are reserved.

  1. Build a new, weatherproof lectern for the Chapel and rebuild the tool shed. (Griffin Davis)
  2. Reclaim specified areas in woods from invasive plants, and replant native species recommended by conservationist.

The Children’s Fresh Air Farm reserves the right to approve any project that a scout may consider, and we certainly welcome any project ideas.
